Risk disclosure
What you can lose, and how
If you read one page on this site, read this one. Everything here can actually happen.
§93.1Risk disclosure
Commit only an amount you could lose in full without it changing your life.
In private investment, total loss is an ordinary outcome, not a remote edge case.
§93.2Risks in the position itself
Risks in the position itself
- Loss of capital: equity is paid last, and often nothing remains.
- Illiquidity: no exchange exists, and no buyer is guaranteed at any price.
- Long holding periods: assume the full stated term, and longer.
- Valuation uncertainty: any figure shown is an estimate built on assumptions.
- Concentration: one country, one management team, a few projects.
- Currency risk: exchange movements can erase a return the business earned.
- Dilution: later capital can rank ahead of yours if you cannot follow.
- No distribution may ever be made; profit on paper is not cash.
§93.3Risks in the business and its environment
Risks in the business and its environment
- Delivery risk: a sound plan can still be executed badly.
- Key-person risk: small teams depend on individuals who can leave.
- Regulatory risk: licences can be delayed, conditioned, refused or withdrawn.
- Tax risk: treatment can change here, or where you are resident.
- Counterparty risk: customers, suppliers and partners fail, delay or dispute.
- Construction risk: budgets overrun and schedules slip while nothing earns.
- Demand risk: customers may not arrive in the number or at the price assumed.
- Country risk: inflation, rates, currency controls and politics hit everything at once.
§93.4Projections, advice, and work that stops
Projections, advice, and work that stops
Past performance does not indicate future results. A projection is arithmetic built on assumptions; change one and the answer moves a long way.
We give no individualised financial, legal or tax advice. Take advice from someone you pay, who owes a duty to you and has no interest in the deal.
An opportunity can stop at assessment. Work is done and money spent before anything is offered, and that preparatory cost is not recovered.
§93.5What we never do
What we never do
- Guarantee a return, protect capital, or promise that an exit exists.
- Accept, hold or transmit investment funds through this website.
- Offer securities to the public through this website.
- Tell you that a position is suitable for you personally.
- Present a projection as a fact, or a target as an entitlement.
- Use deadlines or artificial scarcity to shorten your decision.
- Claim an authorisation, licence, certification or audit we do not hold.
